Queenstown wonders and Heli Fun
The last week in Queenstown has been well good. The week of wonder continued with a jump jam and then a pump track secion the next evening. we gave the jump jam a miss but rolled up to the pump track secion. Our 16” bike came in handy and the trophy was decided on the fastest lap set on our chainless brakeless shiter. I got 2nd behind Beddy who smoked me by loads. It was a good laugh with everyone trying out the bike. The back tyre has finaly given in to all the roosting and fell apart so we gave the bike to seb who lives here to look after. hopefully he’ll tune it up but it might be back in the skip soon. A good training challenge we have got here is to cycle up to the top of the Skyline Gondola on the fire road. I got a 20mins40 and was on the edge of chundering so badly. Liam is on the way up now. At the weekend was the National up the road at Coronet peak. The track was very tame and nothing to difficult to seperate people. This actually means that it becomes the most dificult track to do well on. I wasnt to amped by the course but had some good practice and seeded 6th and got abit loose on the mellow course in the final finishing 14th. From the brits Danny Hart was riding unbelivebly and took the win. Cathro was also up there placing 3rd and Ferg in 12th. After the race Liam and I went for a push up some other tracks for abit of a blast. The day after was the Pro Invitational race held by Vertigo Bikes. The riders were my self, Ben Cathro, Danny Hart, Justin Leov, Matt Scoles, James Dodds and Ginger Si Smith the local pinner. The course was kept a secret untill the day and we were alowed 2 practace runs. This course was the opposite to the race the day befor. It was one of the knarlyest courses I have ridden full of rocks and general Knar. I only just remembered where I was going and put a good run in taking the win. It was an awsome race and I walked awaw with the $200 prise money curtisy of Vertigo Bikes. This morning was one of the coolest things I have done, Tim at vertigo got Me and Cathro onto a Heli Bike Trip. The weather was perfect and the pilot gave us a treat of a ride swinging it about all over the place. Pangus took us down some sweat single track and some drifty fire road corners to the bottom. Thanks again to Vertigo Bikes
